Bruton annual art exhibition

Once a year opportunity with Bruton Art Society so really had to get my skates on to get some work together.  Not much framed this year due as continuing with my experiments for degree course.  Decided to put in Landscape (Pink) and Transience 1 both of which had been entered and accepted for Open Exhibitions (R.W.A. and Black Swan) and were already framed and ready to go.

Landscape (Pink) Oil and ink on paper

Transience 1 Ink on paper (one of six images titled Transience)

Both of these works were generated during last academic year and reflect the new approach to my work.
In addition I submitted three small mixed media studies of the the figure within the urban landscape.  These reflected the concept of finding beauty in the unexpected and referenced my area of study into Japanese aesthetics and wabi sabi as well as using nude forms by famous artists, i.e. Matisse, Picasso and Modigliani. Five mounted works relating to the Urban Beauty theme were also submitted along with 30 greeting cards.  Exhibition showing at Bruton School for Girls, Bruton, Somerset 22nd to 29th March.
