Painting

This was the sketch created during William Burroughts session.  Then used photoshop app. to produce a postive and negative image

Yes, eventually got to get in the studio and paint.  Oils is a tricky medium for me - big learning curve.  Working on the bracelet imagery which I started a few weeks ago.  Oil on paper, repetition imagery using silver bracelet as reference plus text which I took from the sketch above.  The text was a brief outline of the story relating to the bracelet and my mum which was then cut up and reassembled.   This was generated by the session with tutor who introduced us to William Burroughs.  Such strong associations with my darling mum when working on this.

Using part of this photograph for painting.
Will photograph work in progress and upload soon.

Here it is below

These are two oil paintings on paper.  Photographs have lost detail especially in relation to the text in the background.  The text is very significant so not good result  It is a crucial part of the work. Is this work in progress or completed 'sketch'.  My sketches are almost always worked to a conclusion, a finished piece of work?!
I am looking forward to the next development of sketches using individual shape of the links.  The outer and inner rows of links appear the same but are quite different in shape and in their number of facets.

Original sketch using black ink only generated from current area of investigation into silver bracelet.  Symbols relate to properties of silver.

Cropped and manipulated image using photoshop from original sketc, see above. I think this would work well, non specific and generic, simple shapes that could overlayed with text quite easily.  It reflects shape, form and line.

Digital printing

This is taken from a photograph of steps taken in Madeira.
Manipulated in photoshop.  Created as background for poster for end of year exhibition 2013.
Exhibition to be held at 44AD Gallery, Bath. One of the images chosen for 'design team' to work on.

This is the orginal photograph
